You have captured my heart once again. What peace is present here amongst overflowing chaos. I have been welcomed by Erica Kaufman to the archaeological digs of Lila yoga, the Krishnamacharya Yoga Madiram, to continue my studies of Lila Yoga. Lila Yoga is a newly birthed tradition that joins microcosm with macrocosm in a sacred dance of ancient teachings and futuristic discoveries. Erica's presence in this ancient land leads me to a space of the humble student and the worthy teacher. My yoga study is an eternal journey, and I’m enjoying the ride.
India guides me into an understanding that this body and consciousness has been gifted to me, the most incredible gift I will ever receive. I am grateful to play and dance and create in this world, and to have the opportunity to travel and experience. India encourages me to take blessed care of this body so that I may serve the Earth and Her People with my creations. I find myself honoring the cycles of nature and my life more deeply than ever, honoring myself and this world through yoga.
Krishnamacharya had a big hand in bringing yoga to the west, as well as bringing yoga to women. In ancient India, yoga was a secret power only revealed to priest-class (Brahmin) men, and now in the West, the practice is dominated by women. Krishnamcharya was the inspiration for many kinds of yoga styles in the west today, including Bikram, Ashtanga, AcroYoga and most importantly to me, Lila Yoga. I am blessed to sit on the shoulders of all the great teachers who have come before me and who have laid this beautiful path of Yoga.
This path is sacred.
Our lives are Masterpieces, works of art. All of my actions and decisions and habits and desires and fears create trajectories that expand infinitely in all directions, and this is the Art Masterpiece of my Life. I am sitting inside of a 3dimensional mandala that I have created and still am creating. If that sounds far out to you, just practice yoga for 10 years, and you’ll see ;).
We have this space to live and breathe and create. Our atoms are made up of 99% space. The whole universe is connected through space. This space is full of vibrations from our thoughts, words and actions. This space is sacred.
I'm thankful to yoga for giving me the opportunity to recognize my gifts and devote my energy to big and meaningful pursuits.
